So Juju and I had a Mom & daughter day on Saturday. There was NO WAY I was taking her to see Twilight on opening day. I can't stand large crowds EEEKK!!! So it was a Saturday Matinee first showing of 10 a.m.
1. Got up early ,left early
2. Went to Walmart and stocked up on Beef Jerky, gummy bears, maple nut goodies, peanut butter bars and soda
3. Picked up tickest at will call
4. Had a super tasty breakfast at Silver Diner
While at Silver Diner it was nice just her and I . Chillin and talking about school ,her friends. It has been hard for me to connect with her because I have been in the stage of "SO NOT COOL " Parent. She has been changing before my eyes so quickly. It is hard for me to keep up. We talked about the people playing the different characters in the movie who we liked and didn't like. Both of us were CRAZY excited about seeing it. I had read the entire series before I let her read it and found it appropriate and just a good read. It is nice that she found Edward to be the guy she would want to marry one day...sans the vampire part.
We had to wait 1/2 hour outside the theater for it to open. BUT it was so worth it. We were the first and second ones in. We RAN to the theater and SNAGGED our favorite seats. Behind the center bar. I was really surprised how many people were there for a 10 a.m showing. It was nearly packed. When the movie started there was a collective SHRIEK of joy from all the teens in the audience. We LOVED the movie! It stayed close to the book. We can't WAIT till the second movie comes out supposedly in 12/2009. It was one of those moments with my daughter I was glad to have with her. It is so rare we relate on any level. So for a brief moment I was the "Cool Mom" Still no PDA in public her head could explode HAHHAHHA
Pies PIES PIES!!!
I have LOTS of pies to make in the next couple of days. Right now I am simmering Blueberries in Red wine till they are syrupy. Then off to the fridge till tomorrow assembling of pies ! My parents are staying south for Thanksgiving. So we will be spending it at the weeone's God Mother's house. I am bringing the Ham and PIES!! WOOHOOOO!!! Then later this week since there will be only one service for Sunday I will have to figure out how to manage the menu. PLUS I had planned on doing something special for my Sunday school class but I don't know how many kids will be there. hmmm....exactly how many cupcakes DO I MAKE????
